Abstract (EN)

Current study is aimed to find out the effect of using PVC powder on the fresh and rheological properties of self-compacting concrete (SCC). Self-compacting PVC powder concrete (SPC) mixtures were designed with a total binder content of 550 kg/m3 and at a water-to-binder (w/b) ratio of 0.35. Portland cement (PC) was replaced with PVC powder with replacement levels of 0%, 5%, 10%,15%, 20% and 25% by weight in all SPC mixtures. Totally six mixtures were designed and their workability properties were investigated in terms of slump flow diameter, T50 slump flow time, V-funnel flow time, and L-box height ratio. Additionally, the rheological behavior of the SPC was evaluated by using the ICAR rheometer apparatus. Moreover, 56-day compressive strengths of self-compacting concretes containing PVC powder were also examined. From obtained results it can be seen that the utilization of PVC powder into SCC significantly influenced the fresh, rheological and compressive strength characteristics of the SCC mixtures.
