Abstract (EN)

The dissertation first looks at the policies that govern migration movements and the policies of some countries toward immigration and immigrants. The dissertation examines legal migration in general and then addresses illegal migration in particular, analyzing it more comprehensively for its risks and drawbacks that go beyond legal migration, and then presenting the assessment of strengths and weaknesses, benefits and consequences. Second, the study also looks at the contribution of the state and laws to immigration policy, as well as the role of migrants in these countries and the impact of migration on labor in receiving countries. Third, the work provides a study of Turkish efforts towards migrants and examines Türkiye's successful experiment on this issue. Finally, this thesis aims to explain migration policies by applying the normative arguments of some theories of IR in the context of migration and fully answer the research questions. By applying quantitative methods under the positive approach and qualitative methods under the interpretivist approach, this project tends to raise our awareness of the main differences and shortcomings in the current immigration policy, which in turn will help us to better understand the causal factors and find some useful and serious solutions to alleviate the immigration problems and mitigate the phenomenon of immigration. Keywords: Immigration, Türkiye, Irregular migrants, Migration Policies.
