Abstract (EN)

The trade that is carried out universally increases the value and function of the ports. Sea transport serves greatly in the spheres of cargo transportation and is one of the most chosen modes of transport in import-export performances. Logistic activities carried out in sea ports cause problems such as capacity, over – crowdedness, noise. With the support of dry port concept given to sea ports it's aimed to decrease the current load of the ports. This study is aiming to choose between the two alternative locations presented, taking into consideration the degrees of importance of the criteria to be evaluated during the procedure of choosing the location for potential dry port to be located in Aegean region. One of the multiple criteria decision making methods Fuzzy Analytics Hierarchy Process has been used for the preparation of questionnaires and this questionnaire has been carried out with the participation of marine, logistics and foreign trade professionals and authorities dealing with the private sector and the degrees of the importance of the criteria have been identified. Data collected as a result of this questionnaire have been calculated with the help of computer programming and the best and suitable dry port location for the Aegean region has been chosen.
