Abstract (EN)
In this descriptive study examining the structural and technical characteristics of the "Selanik Zurna" and "Kaba Zurna" used in the Aegean region Turkish Folk Music, the aim is to identify the similarities and differences between these instruments, compare their construction materials, the use of pitches during performance, and positional differences related to the instrument playing. The comparative analysis of the mentioned characteristics of these types of instruments has brought together significant information for the preservation of the regional folk music instrument culture and for providing a resource for future generations. This study is designed using the "case study" model, one of the qualitative research methods. Initially, a detailed literature review was conducted for the study. The study data were collected through document (source) analysis and semi-structured interviews. Woods such as plum, boxwood, and apricot are used in the construction of the instruments. The "Selanik Zurna" used in the study varies in total length between 357.5 mm and 450 mm. The total length of the "Kaba Zurna" was measured as 542 mm. When comparing the "Selanik zurna" and "Kaba Zurna", it was determined that there are size differences among materials such as reed, tube, cinnamon, and kanellon.
