Eğitim kaynağı olarak müzeler: Bodrum Sualtı Arkeoloji Müzesi için bir vaka çalışması

One of the important functions of museums is education, besides their responsibility of acquiring, conserving and researching intangible and tangible materials of culture. Museum education, the subject of this study, is the most important notion in a museum as it is the gateway to communicating the cultural heritage held in museums. The aim of this thesis is to create a greater awareness of the importance of underwater cultural heritage and educate the primary-school children betvveen the ages of 10-12 on history, geography and archaeology in an interactive and engaging method by using the rich archaeological collections of the Bodrum Museum of Undervvater Archaeology. Moreover, a broad presentation of the Bodrum Museum of Undervvater Archaeology is submitted. Further this, it provides a background for issues concerning undervvater cultural heritage, undenvater archaeology, museum education and theories of education& learning.
