Similar opinions of Ahl-Sunnah and Mutazila about new adjectives

The field of history of theology and schools of thought is a branch of science that includes many schools and their views. There are three main branches representing the Sunni tradition within this branch of science. These are, respectively, Salafiyya, Maturidiyya and Ash'ariyya. The Salafiyya school adopts a method that is more focused on texts, closed to interpretation, that is, based on the views of the Quran, Sunnah and the Companions, and does not give much space to opinion and ijtihad in religious matters. The Ash'ariyya and Maturidiyya schools are schools that try to address the issues of tradition on a rational basis so that the minds do not have doubts in matters of faith. Another school that has a serious position as much as the Sunni schools is the Mu'tazila. It has been at the forefront with rationalism, prioritizing reason over tradition in matters of faith. Both the Sunni and the Mu'tazila schools have used methods in the field of theology. These methods are divided into two as narrated istidlal and rational istidlal. The istidlal method, known as a way of reasoning and proof, is one of the frequently used methods in the field of theology. In the context of the ambiguous expressions in the Qur'anic verses, both the Ahl al-Sunnah and the Mu'tazila have rational and narrated istidlal methods regarding the hajj attributes attributed to Allah Almighty. We see that the approaches of the schools that use both methods are far from being synonymous. The issue of attributes has been controversial among these schools. In general, attributes are considered in three categories and these are divided into three classes: personal, actual and hajj. As a result, both Sunni schools and Mu'tazila have similar views regarding the interpretations they make regarding the news attributes and they meet on the same ground.
