Özet (EN)

Echocardiography is one of the most popular technique in diagnosis and guiding to treatment of the heart dieases that is quite significant worldwide and determining either heart motion or quantitative values. Recent development in echocardiography technology gives opinions to clinicans and cardiologists to measure regional and global deformation (strain) and deformation rate (strain rate) by non ? invasive method in left ventricle.Main purpose of this thesis is to determine the hypokinesic situation results from different heart diseases. In this study, heart images taken from patients are examined by a MATLAB based Speckle Tracking algorithm. In general the algorithm is consisted of measuring strain rate of heart tissue by tracking tags during a video duration on active echocardiographic heart images which are tagged. After this study, the results has been compared with the results taken from the echocardiography device which the images was taken from. Strain values taken from device are for lateral region -11.48 +/- 4.5 and for septal region -13.32 +/-4.41. Besides, after the study, strain values are obtained. For lateral region result is 13.02+/- 4.58 and for septal region result is -13.81+/- 3.65. Strain rate values taken from device are for lateral region -0.966 +/-0.537 and for septal region -0.8863 +/-0.6085. In the study, measured strain rate values are ; for lateral region 1.25 +/-0.64 and for septal region -1.01 +/-0.47. These results shows the feasibility of the study for measurement of strain and strain rate.
