The place of ecological art in art education in terms of environmental awareness

Art plays a vital role in raising environmental awareness, providing an opportunity to evaluate the potential impact of different art disciplines on the environment. Art can draw society's attention to ecological awareness by addressing environmental issues in an emotional and aesthetic context. By evaluating the effects of art education programs in Turkey on the development of environmental awareness and identifying the deficiencies in these programs, it is aimed to develop suggestions to increase their potential on environmental awareness. By evaluating the effects of art on environmental awareness through a focus group study of art teachers, art educators, academics and artists in Turkey, it is intended to help us understand the effects of social and cultural factors on the role of art in raising environmental awareness. Understanding how art can have an impact not only on individuals but also on the society at large in raising environmental awareness is an important task in terms of developing more effective strategies. Participant views and experiences will be assessed through focus group interviews with art teachers, art educators, academics and artists active in the field of art education. This will provide an opportunity to include valuable perspectives from within the field and address a variety of viewpoints. A key component of the research is to examine various artworks and projects that have emerged in Turkey and assess their impact on environmental awareness. Concrete examples of art can strengthen the theoretical framework and allow us to better understand its potential in raising environmental awareness by translating it into practice. This research addresses an important area by aiming to evaluate the effects of artworks and projects emerging in Turkey on environmental awareness. At this point, one of the main success factors of the research will be the presentation of concrete examples showing that art can play a critical role in the process of transforming environmental awareness into practice. By assessing the successes and weaknesses of artworks and projects in raising awareness of environmental issues, it can contribute to designing similar studies more effectively in the future. In this context, identifying how various artworks contribute to environmental awareness provides guidance for the development of more effective strategies in the fields of environmental education and awareness. A detailed analysis of documents related to art education programs, artworks and environmental awareness in Turkey strengthens the literature context of the study and provides a more solid support for the theoretical foundations.
