Özet (EN)
The speed of development of technology is increasing day by day. Countries need to lead technological infrastructures to keep up with this time. Under the umbrella of globalization, countries attach importance to high technology exports to gain a competitive advantage and grow their economies. For this, R&D studies are of great importance within countries. With the R&D expenditures, countries increase their competitiveness and keep up with the changing technology. High technology exports also enable economic empowerment. R&D and innovation are a whole. The innovation infrastructures of the countries and the budgets they spend on this are measured by the R&D budgets. Budget expenditures on R&D also show which areas are lacking and in which areas more budget is needed. This study it is aimed to examine the long-term role of innovation on export performance in Turkey for the period 2001-2020. We can say that innovations have had an increasing effect on exports in Turkey for a long time, but R & D expenditures have been covered by foreign direct investments. When we compare our findings with the literature examined within the scope of the thesis, it is seen that the export-innovation relationship is compatible with the literature, but the R &D-export relationship contrasts with the literature.
