HI ABSTRACT THE SUMMARY OF THE RESARCH INTO THE IMPORTANCE OF HUMAN RESOURCES FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND WITH REFERENCE OF TURKEY By Zülküf KILICIKAN Department of Economic Anatolia University The Institude of Social Sciences October 2001 Consultant : Yrd. Doç. Dr. Erol KUTLU Human resources is the human source that is well-educated and gained ability. A well- educated person and enough man-power are the two main requirements for economic development. Man-power shows the country's human resources and it's accepted as the human resources stock that the country has well-educated labour force is one of the main elements of economic development. Natural sources, man-power, capital should be used prductively, and it's very important to use these sources for production. Nowadays it's believed that human capital is the key to economic development. The main problem for the most underdeveloped countries is not lack of man-power but uneducated labour force. Therefore, the most significant problem for these countries is to develop human resources. It's important to use other investments productively and also it maintains real importance to produce well-edeucated and healty people in a system. There are serious handicaps for Turkey to become andvanced country. First it's well- educated human power. Turkey comes after well-developed countries as man -power that will produce information that is strategic source of information age. In this context, "investment in people" maintains the key role. This research expresses human capital and its importance in Turkish reality.
