Anxiety levels of health workers who work in family health centers located in the center of Elazığ

Özet (EN)

Anxiety is the feeling of unknown, spontaneous, uncertain, fear, worry, boredom, worrying about bad thing which is going to be happen that accompanied by somatic sypmtoms. This study was carried out for evaluating the level of anxiety, also the factors affecting it, of health workers who work in Family Health Centers that are located in the center of Elazığ. The universe of this study, which is cross-sectional, was formed with 245 health workers who are working in Family Health Centers that are located the center of Elazığ. 225 of them has been reached (112 family physicians, 113 family health staff) and response rate is 91.8% Participants of this reearch were implemented a questionnaire, including also Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), with face to face interviewing. The average age of participants are 37.84±7.81 years, 66.7% are females, 84.9% are married, 80.4% have children and 88.5% of their spouse is working, Participants' avarage BAI score is 9.11 ± 8.71. The levels of anxiety women to men, overview to profession negative / that are partially positive to positive ones, those who are not satisfied with their profession and working environment to those who are satisfied ones, those whose health status are bad/medium to good ones, who suffer from violence or to be exposed to violance and who has anxiety to be complainted to those who haven't live in a such situation, those who have sleeping problems, chronic physical and mental illness to those who haven't such problems, who live in burnout compared to others were higher than others. (p <0.05). There was no relation between the level of anxiety and the situation of age, marital status, work status, income status, the number of people living in the home, period of service in the profession, the perception of socioeconomic level, personality, and receiving social support, smoking/use of alcohol, doing regular exercise and losing first-degree relatives in the last year (p>0.05). As a result, anxiety levels are assessed as low in family health centers' personnel. However, it is thought to be appropriate for the solution to make studies concerning factors of enhancing anxiety and it can be also helpful for not raising the level.
