Abstract (EN)

Thermal power plants release heavy metals to the environment through harmful gases and dust. Water, soil and weather have been affected by this gas and dust. According to this human and animal healthy have harmed. Livestock's have exposed to this pollutions various concentration passing every year. One of the possible effects of this pollution has been on the animals' reproductive system. In this thesis was aimed detection to the level of heavy metal in cattle, which are rising around Elbistan Thermal Power Plant and measuring the oxidative stress parameters to determine the possible effect of this heavy metal on the biochemistry of follicular fluid. For this purpose have been used follicular fluid which is belong to cow which is slaughtered in slaughter house Elbistan (n=25) and Elazig (n=14). In follicular fluid cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb) and mercury (Hg) have been measured with atomic absorption spectrometry and malondialdehyde (MDA), glutathione (GSH) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) activity levels with measured with calorimetric spectrometer. After have been made in statistical analysis parameters was procured. As a result; Elbistan Thermal Power Plant breeding in cow follicular fluid Pb concentration (22,27± 1,73 µg/dL, P<0.05) and in Elazig reared in MDA concentration (85,77 ± 10,40 µmol, P<005) is high, but Cd, Hg, GSH levels and GSH-PX activity was found to be different (P>0,05).
