Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) analysis application using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) for electro-mechanical actuators

In the context of this thesis, we present a new model for criticality classification using the AHP method for critical failure modes in the reliability-centered maintenance analysis stages. Using this new AHP model, we evaluate each failure mode in terms of its impact on the system concerning cost, reliability, availability, criticality, and production. We show that a more useful criticality classification can make with the proposed AHP method. Within the scope of the thesis; we offer a reliability centered maintenance analysis application based on criticality classification using the newly proposed AHP method for Electro-Mechanical Actuators (EMA), which is one of the systems that are particularly critical for fighter aircraft. Electro-mechanical actuators perform crucial functions on aircraft such as internal weapon bay doors, landing gear doors, air-to-air refueling doors, etc. We present a new method for motor and electrical/electronic failures in Electro-Mechanical Actuators. Also, we propose a predictive maintenance approach for Class A and B parts designated for electro-mechanical actuators.
