Place names of Elmalı

In this study, which identifies the place names in the town of Elmalı in Antalya with their origins, it is aimed to contribute to the research of place names and to have knowledge about the cultural structure of the mentioned settlement. During the research, all resources related to all the place names in general terms and all the resources related to the Elmali district were tried to be reached and in the meantime, the elderly people were interviewed and the other place names connected to the villages (mountain, hill, river, lake, locality, etc.) were compiled. After the data related to the place names of the district were collected in this way, the settlement names were handled alphabetically (except the district's own name Elmalı) without being classified. Here names of places have tried to be discussed shall also include opinions about the origin of the name, and he has addressed whether in Turkey or elsewhere presence abroad. Thus, the place names specific to the Elmali district were tried to be determined. The place names of the district are classified and given in table format. According to the results of this study, where the place names in the town of Elmalı in Antalya are handled in terms of language, it is seen that the language that dominates the place names in Turkish is as in many other parts of Anatolia.
