Evaluation of policewomen's working and huing conditions in police organization

This thesis is builded in three parts which contains problems that woman police officers working in National Police Security Agency face in their working life, how to find out these problems and the affects of these problems on their productivity. In this labor, the difficulties to be a woman in police job which is perceived as a men?s job in our society and at the same time the troubles that are faced in working life are examined. In the thesis,In the First Part, under the title of Police Job and Working Conditions, the description of Police and Police Job, its elements, its progress and organization in the wealthy countries and in Turkey, furthermore the working conditions in wealty countries and in Turkey are examined and general information is given.In the second part, under the title of Women In The Working Life and Their Problems, the meaning and the elements of woman and concept of social gender are mentioned. Looking at the roles of women have in the social life and expectations of society from women, the problems that women have in the social structure and working life are declared.In the third part, under the title of Woman Police Officers in Turkey and Their Problems, the working conditions of woman police officers in Turkey are explained, their acquiescence to police job, assignment, appointment according to their gender, payment subjects, employee rights and regulations about motherhood are mentioned. In this part, the problems of woman police officer?s problems are mentioned as they are related to their family life, their social life and their working life, furthermore the reasons of the problems are examined.At the end of the third part, a survey was made on women police officers working in İzmir which purposed to find out the affects of working conditions on their service productivity. According to the this survey, some critics and offers was made.It?s clear that, problems of woman police officers who serve in Turkish National Police are not too different from man police officers and these problems not only stem from being woman, but also stem from being police. In addition to the lenght of working hours, insufficiency of additional working payments, insufficiency of retirement payments, there are some other problems with the consideration of society about gender, the duties that our society gives to women taking care of houseworks, looking after children and some failures about children care. Furthermore, some solution offers about this problems are given.
