Development of blockchain based intelligent mass customization methods for industry 5.0 platforms

Developments in science and technology generally aim to raise people's living standards. The point reached in the production sector today is basically adopting personalized service and production models. The concept of tailor-made production is called mass customization and is becoming increasingly common in today's industrial world. In this production model, which is currently implemented by a limited number of companies, the products on a mass production line can be reshaped according to the needs, tastes, and wishes of the people. However, the applicability of the production model in this structure is very difficult in practice. One of the main reasons for this situation is security, communication, and cooperation between the parties. In addition, other problems encountered in this production model are speed and time, respectively. Another technology that attracts attention today is the blockchain. Blockchain technology is a very important protocol that provides trust-based communication between individuals, institutions, or organizations without the need for third parties. Basically, asset transfers can be made between parties based on proof of work through small computer programs called smart contracts. In addition, the fact that these transactions can be provided with very small commissions makes blockchain technology very popular in today's world. This thesis, it is aimed to eliminate some of the problems experienced in mass privatization by using blockchain technology. For this purpose, various blockchain-based sample applications have been developed (crypto-asset creation, design and production modeling optimization in production, logistics management) and basic modules that may be required for a mass customization system have been created. In the last stage of the thesis, a blockchain application was developed using the Hyperledger Fabric platform, which brings together the customer, designer, supplier, and manufacturer. With this application, a relationship was established between the parties involved in mass customization using smart contracts. This locally developed application was later moved to the web environment and tested. The results show that blockchain technology can largely solve the main problems (security, collaboration, and communication) experienced in mass customization.
