Abstract (EN)

Knowing the complex dielectric permeability of natural stones and building materials is of great importance for many applications. Geological researches, remote sensing and building applications are good examples. In this thesis, 26 different type of natural stones and building materials which are 14 different types of marble, 9 types of granite, 2 types of bricks and 1 type of slate were used to determine electrical properties in the S-Band. Measurements were made in laboratory conditions by using a vector network analyzer and waveguide. Dielectric constant and loss tangent values which discussed in the study were calculated respectively as 5.32 and 0.25 for marbles, 4.49 and 0.43 for granites , 3.59 and 0.665 for the brick and 6.29 and 0.55 for slate. The standard deviation values of the related groups were 0.81 and 0.06 for the marble type, 1.38 and 0.10 for the granite type, 0.39 and 0.01 for the brick type. The loss tangent values of the materials are linked to a function in terms of S-Band frequencies. The root mean square error was calculated as 0.0249 for marble, 0.0318 for granite type and 0.0805 for brick type.
