Özet (EN)
The characteristics of the hydraulic jump in a stilling basin downstream of the spillway chute channel with different slopes were investigated experimentally and numerically for different Froude numbers and sill heights. The velocities in the flow field were measured using Laser Doppler Anemometry (LDA). The measured velocity and flow profiles were used to verify the numerical model findings of the flow under the same conditions. The governing equations of the flow were numerically solved by Ansys-Fluent program based on finite volume method using Standard k-e, Renormalization group k-e, Realizable k-e, Modified k-w, Shear Stress Transport and Reynolds Stress Model turbulence models. The volume of fluid (VOF) method is used to determine the flow profile in the numerical analysis. The testing of the numerical results for grid-independent numerical solution is carried out using a Grid Convergence Index (GCI) analysis. The geometrical and kinematic properties of the hydraulic jump were determined using the LDA measurements, and the effects of different structure and flow conditions on hydraulic jump and energy dissipation were presented. Comparisons of the numerical and experimental results indicated that the Reynolds Stress Model was more successful turbulence model than the others for the determination of the velocity field and flow profile
