Özet (EN)

ABSTRACT COMPARISON OF THE EFFECTS OF ANKAFERRIC AND AMOXYCYLENE KLAVULANIC ACIDINE GRAFT ON THE RIGHT RANGE OF INFECTIONAL WOUND MODELS The skin, which completely covers the external surface of our body and creates a permeability barrier between the internal and external environment, is the largest organ system of the body. It adjusts body temperature, aids in excretion and respiration. With the loss of these skin functions due to various factors, acute or chronic wounds occur. There are a few treatment methods in order to cover open wounds in human. Wound healing can be enabled by letting the wound heal spontaneously, by bringing the wound flaps together with applications such as stitch etc.,and by performing wound repair with tissue transfers such as flap or graft. The studies on numerous agents are being conducted with the aim of accelerating wound healing. Among these agents, herbal extracts draw attention. In our study, we investigated the effect of Ankaferd, a herbal mixture known to have an antibacterial effect, on wound healing after the infected wound was covered with a skin graft. An experimental study was carried out on 24 rats including three groups namely, the control, Amoxicillin Clavulanic Acid control and Ankaferd groups. Skin defects measuring 2x2 cm were created back of the subjects. On the first day, all wounds were infected with Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. On the second day, skin grafting was performed on the wounds of the control group without using any medication whereas Ankaferd was administered on the wounds of the Ankaferd group. Amoxicillin-clavulanic acid was administered via oral gavage to the amoxicillin-clavulanic acid group for seven days. After the experiment, on the seventh day, the biopsies were taken and findings were evaluated macroscopically and histopathologically. In histological examination, the control and experimental groups were compared in terms of reepithelization, granulation tissue formation, collagen accumulation, inflammation severity, angiogenesis, and ulcer. No statistically significant result was found between the control and Ankaferd group in terms of wound healing.
