Abstract (EN)

This study aimed to examine the relationship among problematic Internet, smartphone, Social media usage and Social ostracism of parents having children with disabilities and without disabilities. For this research, 102 disabled childrens' parents and 102 parents having a child without any disabilities filled out the survey forms. The study mainly compared the degree of relationship among research variables in terms of having children with disabilities. Measure mentinstruments for data collection sincluded "Participant Information Form", "Young Internet Addiction Questionnaire", "Smartphone AddictionScale", "Social Media Addiction Scale – Adult Short Form", and "Social Ostracism Questionnaire". Based on theresults of the study, financialin sufficiency subscale was found as significantly different in terms of participants' gender. Besides, correlationco efficients were found as higher among research variables and related subscales in terms of having children with disabilities. Based on the findings obtained from linear regression included all participants, it was found that Social rights subscales were predictive for problematic internet usage. Internet addiction was also found as highly and significantly correlated with smartphone and Social media addictions. The results of the research indicated that financialin sufficiency was higher among mothers of disabled children. The findings provided insight as well as contribution in terms of structuring effective support programs for parents as well as their children with disability.
