Abstract (EN)

Throughout their lives, disabled individuals face more challenges than other individuals. This research aims to determine the impact of the constraints faced by disabled individuals in participating in tourism on their motivation to travel. The study evaluated data obtained through a survey of 385 disabled individuals living in the world-famous tourist destination of Antalya, Turkey. Analysis of the survey data shows that environmental barriers encountered by disabled individuals have a negative impact on their motivation to participate in tourism. Additionally, the feeling of learned helplessness also has a negative effect on motivation. However, the impact of internal and interactional barriers faced by disabled individuals on motivation is not statistically significant. It has been determined that motivation has a strong impact on travel intentions, with a one-unit increase in motivation leading to a 55% increase in travel intentions. This research contributes theoretical and practical insights for sector representatives, academics working in the field, and public institutions and organizations. Keywords: Accessible tourism, constraints, tourism motivation, travel intentions
