Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to investigate the rate of the behavioral problems seen in adolescents and how the satisfaction of their life is perceived by parental attitudes depending on sex. The survey was conducted on a total of 606 students, 396 girls and 210 boys, who continued to the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades of the eight high schools in the central districts of Adana province. The data on life satisfaction of adolescents are obtained from "Multidimensional Adolescent Life Satisfaction Scale "(Huebner, 1994), The "Parental Attitude Scale" (Lamborn, Mounts, Steinberg Dornbush, 1991) is given for the behavioral problems of the parents, Evaluation Scale for Young People "(Achenbach and Edelbrock, 1991) and personal data were obtained using the" Personal Information Form". In the analysis of the data, Multiple Regression Analysis was used. As a result of the research, it was determined that acceptance and psychological autonomy of adolescents perceived by the father and control which they percieved by their mother differ significantly depending on the sex. When behavioral problems are examined by sex, it is clearly seen that female students are more internalized the problems than male students; male students have more externalization problems than girls. It was determined that girls' life satisfaction is higher than male students. Meaningful relationships in the negative direction was found between the perceived acceptance from the mother and the father and psychological autonomy perceived by the mother and the internalization and externalization behaviors. Psychological autonomy perceived from the father was determined to be significantly related to externalization problems only in the negative direction. It is seen that there is no meaningful relationship between control and internalization problems perceived by parents and that there is a significant negative relationship with externalization problems. It was found that there was a positive relationship between perceived acceptance and control by mother and father, psychological autonomy perceived by mother and life satisfaction and there was no significant relationship between psychological autonomy perceived by father and life satisfaction. The internalization and externalization problems and life satisfaction of high school students were examined separately in both the student group and the male and female students who were predicting by acceptance, psychological autonomy and control perceived by the parents. The perceived acceptance from the parents and the psychological autonomy perceived from the mother was found to be significant predictors of internalization problems (both in girls and in all students). In male students, acceptence percieved from the father and psychological autonomy perceived from the mother are significant predictors of internalization problems. Perceived acceptance from parents, of psychological autonomy perceived by the mother and externalization problems was determined to be a significant predictor of the control high school students (in girls and all students). Differently, the significant predictors of externalization problems in male students are only the perceived acceptance from the father and the psychological autonomy perceived from the mother. In both analyzes surveyed in in girls and all students, it was determined that the perceived acceptance from mother and father, the perceived psychological autonomy from mother and the control of life satisfaction were significant predictors. In male students, only acceptance perceived by mother and father was found to be meaningful predictors of life satisfaction. Keyword: Lıfe satisfaction, parental attitude and behavioral problems
