Özet (EN)

The aim of this study is to investigate reveal the relationship between Shyness and Developing Communication Skills. Additionally it is studied that the effects of gender, age, number of siblings, birth order, academic success, parents level of income and education on shyness and developing communication skills in adolescences. The survey range is held on 200 high school students who are at the ages between of 14-18 and located in Beşiktaş in İstanbul. Province Scale of Communication Skills and Scale of shyness are used as data collecting tools. Furthermore personal information check list is formed up in order to specify socio-demographic characteristics of the students. According to survey it is verified that considering socio-demographic characteristics girls have high range of communication skills rather than boys and, the more grow up adolescences the less shy they are, and also if the students' academic successes are less or mid they become much more shy. Besides there are no relevance consequences considering social-demographic characteristics of the parents in accordance with their level of education and level of income. In this research it is found out that there is negative relationship between the level of shyness and communication skills on the survey group. At the final debate part of the study, there are given suggestions according to findings for the parents, researchers, and also physiological consultants for whom take part on that field.
