Le role et l'importance de l'enseignement/ l'aprentissage precoce des langues etrangeres dans l'enseignement des langues etrangeres en Turquie

With the rapid growth of the economic, financial and technological globalization, it is necessary to learn two or even three languages in the world time. In this context, many studies strongly emphasize the importance of early teaching/learning of foreign languages, titled as "ELF", in order to prevent loss of time during the student's apprenticeship in adulthood. In the same way, "one of obvious approaches to ensure this development is to reduce the age of beginnings of teaching / learning. That is why it starts now learning a language in 7 years old in the vast majority of countries" (Porcher & Groux, 2003, p.3). In this sense, the early teaching/learning of foreign languages is seen essential in today's world dominated by multilingualism and multiculturalism. In parallel with all these developments, Turkey did not remain indifferent to the innovations and has made school reforms in the education system. It is on this point that it is very important that Turkey, engaged in the field of foreign languages for many years and signed significant reforms in quantity, has the necessary initiatives on such issues as, with special focus on practice and teacher education for early teaching / learning of foreign languages. Given the variety and quantity of research on ELF, we will try to show in this study the role and importance of ELF in the teaching / learning of foreign languages in Turkey - being in constant evolution by new reforms carried out in the education system- with special focus on the teaching / learning of early French Foreign Language (FFL) for public school age between 6 and 12 years.
