This study was conducted to examine self-control and coping with stress as predictors of procrastination in adults aged 18 and over. In addition to this purpose, demographic variables including age, gender, educational status, marital status, having a child, working status, working time, having a managerial role in working life, receiving psychiatric/psychological support, and having a chronic illness were analyzed in this study. According to the results of the study, it was aimed to determine whether the procrastination tendency, self-control and coping with stress levels differ. Adults aged 18 and over residing in Turkey participated in the study. In this study, general procrastination scale, brief self-control scale and stress coping scale were applied to the participants. In addition to these scales, a demographic information form was given to learn the socio-demographic information of the participants. Before participating in the study, the participants were given an informed consent form containing information about the study. SPSS program was used in the analysis of the data. Multiple regression analysis was applied to determine the effect of self-control and coping with stress on procrastination in adults. Independent samples t-test and ANOVA analysis were used to compare procrastination, self-control and coping with stress levels according to demographic variables. Scheffe and Tamhane's T2 post hoc tests were used to determine between which groups there was a difference after ANOVA. As a result of the study, it was found that self-control and coping with stress have a significant mediating role on procrastination in adults. It was determined that general procrastination scores differed according to demographic variables such as age, relationship status, education level, working time, whether or not they had children, and whether they received psychological/psychiatric support. It was found that self- control scores differed according to demographic variables such as age, having children or not, working time, relationship status, and receiving psychological/psychiatric support. It was found that the scores for coping with stress differed according to demographic variables such as age, gender, relationship status, whether or not they had children, and whether they received psychological/psychiatric support. The findings were discussed in the light of the literatüre.
