Abstract (EN)

Major environmental problems that may occur during blasting are ground vibration, air shock, fly-rock, dust, poisonous gases and smokes. Researches carrying out study about these environmental problems have generated solutions to estimate the impacts of ground vibration, fly-rock and air shock due to the changes in controllable and uncontrollable factors in blastings by observing and making measurements on real blastings.In this study, ground vibration, fly-rock and air shock impacts occurring during bench blasting in Copler mine site have been observed and it has been researched which parameters were effective and also to what extent Copler and Sabırlı villages, which are the nearest settlements to the mine site, were affected.In order to make these measurements, two fixed Instantel Minimate Mate Plus (IMMP) model vibration devices were used in Sabırlı and Copler villages. As these fixed and measuring devices are insufficient in determining the directional change of ground vibration, another IMMP model mobile device was benefited as well.Particle velocity, particle frequency, particle acceleration and noise values have been measured with the mentioned device in order to determine the environmental impacts of ground vibration.For the estimation of particle velocity, scaled distance and particle velocity, data couples have been analysed for the stated site. The purpose of this analysis was to determine the peak particle velocity according to the charge amount of explosive material and the change of scaled distance.Besides, in this study, the directional change of land parametres have been identified and shown on plan by taking into consideration that environmental impacts of blasting induced ground vibrations will vary depending on the geological structure and discontinuities. Frequency and peak particle speed (PPV) values as a result of measurements have been evaluated in accordance with the country specifications and a final comment has been made about their impact on the settlements close to the mine site.
