Designing a synchronous online learning environment

Communication and interaction are the most important factors that affected the processes of teaching-learning. Interaction learning process in distance education environment is qualified rather than traditional classroom enviroment. This affects distance education quality. In this study, it is purposed that developing the environment provide students more active participating to e-learning courses, to increase the high level course content interaction among students and teachers, and to contribute e-learning development in our country. Investigated commercial e-learning applications and consulted to the views of experts in developing process of the e-learning environment. After the developing process, survey technique was used to determine university students? and expert?s views about the environment. For this purposes, two implementation, first with students and the second with experts, were carried out. Both of two implementation, firstly the environment was introduce, after that the environment was using with participants. Participants? view about the environment was collected through the survey. Survey data was collected through printed scale and online scale. Printed scale was carried out to students and online scale was carried out to experts. Also experts answer 4 open ended questions for more detailed views of experts. In the light of findings, it is concluded that students? and experts? views about the environment is positive. Moreover, experts stated that, the environment led to the new developing similar environments, the students can take feedback immediately, and also student-student, student-content and student-teacher interaction provide with multimedia items at the same time in the environment. To increase the quality of distance education similar applications is used more common.
