Cultures and developments of tandoor and cooker in Eastern Anatolian civilizations in ancient age

In the line of history and civilization, many cultural elements are a reflection of the society to which they belong. At this point, the tandoor and cooker culture of the ancient civilizations of Eastern Anatolia which is our research topic was recorded as the interpretation of the period and the reflection of the culture in the societies. Cuisine culture is the most important element of many civilizations. In this element, the kitchen and pantry sections of the cooker, tandoor and cooker sections are important. Tandoors, which have an important place in Eastern Anatolian culture, are still remarkable especially in rural areas. In this research, the history of this cultural element and its development up to the present by touching on regional differences are examined. In this sense, the tandoor and cookers dating from ancient times to the present day have an important place in the development lines of societies. Tandoor and cookers are seen as a profession of rural areas but they are the most important reflection of a culture. It is an important part of the architectural structure in the village houses. In the light of archaeological data, the tandoors are a part of a culture that has been going on for centuries in Eastern Anatolia. Especially in the excavations carried out in ancient settlements area, we see the presence of tandoor and cooker in almost every region. This situation shows that tandoor and quarries have preserved their cultural and functional value from the first periods of humanity to the present day.
