Analysis of day night population movement in Eskisehir city center using GIS methodology

Geographic Information systems methodologies are used in mapping the population for many years. During the evolution period from beginning there has been diferent mapping techniques, calculation methods and different data sets used. For many reasons outcomes may vary in different spatial and temporal resolutions. In this study, an analysis on mapping techniques, calculation methods, differences between works and the reasons of it was handled. After the consideration, work to visualise population distrubion and and movement along one day on 175 districts of Eskisehir's so called central municipal areas Odunpazarı and Tepebaşı, is presented. Areas may use and usages of day time night time population exchange models are briefly explained.
