Istitrad in the Esrar Dede's Tezkire

In our thesis we have discussed on stories which is told for istidrâd in the Tezkire-i Şuʾarâ-yı Mevleviyye which is known as Esrar Dede's Tezkire. Istidrad is to put a different theme which is related with the theme in the main theme in order to keep alive the interest of the reader by adding richness and diversity to theme which is told. Thus, literary and social-cultural characteristics of its period can be demonstrated thanks to theme which was put on. Tezkire which was formed by the wish of ġeyh Galib has been the first summit tezkire gathering Mevlevi poets in our literature. Only the Mevlevi poets having Divan and named as the Master among Mevlevis have been accepted to the Tezkire. It is a significant work since it gathers the Mevlevi poets and it provides some information on their understanding of poetry and characteristics of Mevlevism through their lives. While the information was given, it was directly told but generally presented by use of istidrad style. In our study, we have tried to find out the place of istidrad, which we can evaluate as a characteristic of style, in Esrar Dede's Tezkire; to reveal the findings on culture, poet and poetry through these determinations.
