Abstract (EN)

Ill SUMMARY In order to evaluate the stockpile of Etibank Guleman-Kef Concentrator tailings. Representative samples were taken from different points by forming a grid on the tailing dam. It was found from the analysis conducted on the sample that 57.4 % by weight of the sample was above 0.3 mm with a grade of 20.98 %Cr203 and the remaining 42.6% of the sample was under 0.3 mm with a grade of 21.21 % Q2O3. A seres of experiments were conducted in order to determine the liberation size, and -0.3 mm was found to be the most efficient liberation size. Experiments revealed that -0.1 mm fraction was not suitable for separation by shaking table so shaking table experiments were carried out on -0.3+0.1 mm size fraction. The results of shaking table experiments under optimum conditions revealed that a pre-concentrate assaying 34.08 %Cr2Û3 with 90.00 % recovery could be obteined and the tailing countained only 4.82 % Cr2Û3. The pre- concentrate from shaking table was fed to A High Intensity Dry Magnetic Separator (HIDMS) and a final concentrate assaying %45.76 % Ö2O3 with 87.46 % recovery was obtained.
