Abstract (EN)
Dental crowding are treated with orthodontic tooth movement. This movement is possible by mechanical and physiological forces applied to the teeth. Tooth movement can not occur unless an optimum level of force reached. After reaching optimum force levels, increasing orthodontic force to obtain faster tooth movement is not true. Researchers have been studying to shorten orthodontic treatment time for many years. For years, the effect of low level laser has been used in areas such as pain control and treatment of bone fractures. In recent years, studies have examined the effects of low level laser therapy on orthodontic tooth movement. However, these efforts are not enough. The aim of our study was to evaluate the effects of diode laser in experimental orthodontic tooth movement. In our study, 30 Wistar rats have been used. The animals divided into three groups. A spring which applies 20gr orthodontic force to the maxillary incisors has been applied to all groups. The low level laser has been applied to the maxillary incisors of study groups except control group. Laser energy has been applied to the first study group 72 j ( 980 nm, 0.1 W X 720 sn) and second study group 54 j (980 nm, 0.1 W X 540 sn) in 7 days. At the end of the study (8. day) period all groups had been sacrificed for histologic and metric evaluation. After that statistical analysis has been performed.
