Abstract (EN)
Diabetes Mellitus is an independent risk factor for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), although data on diabetes, acute renal damage, and COVID-19 severity are confined to MiddLe East populations. Techniques: This research looked at 75 patients admitted to Mosul Hospital/Mosul in November 2022. The research included liver and kidney testing. Log-converted data was analyzed using SPSS and Pearson correlation. Diabetic individuals had the strongest correlations between measured data, with glucose level correlating positively (0.13**) with C-reactive protein and other biochemical markers. Based on glycemic state, COVID-19 patients were divided into 3 groups: euglycemia, hyperglycemia, and diabetes (26.21 percent). The Diabetic group had substantially (0.0002) higher levels of C-reactive Protein and Glucose than hyperglycemia [CRP 14.53 mg/dL vs 9.07 mg/dL, glucose 436.12 mg/dL vs 166.23 mg/dL] (0.0001). Male COVID-19 instances had greater associations than female cases. Diabetes elevated kidney and liver function markers. Diabetes followed by COVID-19 illness was linked to severe complications and increased death rates. Keywords: COVID-19 cases, Urea, Creatinine, DM, C-Reactive protein, ALP
