Osteoporosis is one of the most prevalent skeletal illnesses, characterized by bone tissue deterioration, decreased bone density, and bone microarchitecture disruption. Osteoporosis is a risk factor for fractures, just as hypertension is a risk factor for stroke. This disease affects a huge number of persons of the same gender and race. It produces severe secondary health complications. It may become more prevalent as humans age. The aim of this study was to evaluate the osteoporosis knowledge level of nurses working in the hospital. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted between 01.04.2022 and 01.09.2022 at AL-Diwaniyah City/AL-Diwaniyah Health Directorate/Diwaniyah Training Hospital in Iraq. Results: Participants' mean age was 34.07±6.83, mean total work experience was 12.64±7.24 years, and mean body mass index was 25.16±2.54. It was found that 52.2% of the participants were male, 73% were married, According to the findings, 43.3% of the participants were institute graduates. 34.3% of the participants had a family member/relative (mother, father, sibling, children, etc.) diagnosed with osteoporosis. 13.1% took calcium supplements, and 40.5% took vitamin D supplements. On the OKAT, participants' mean scores were 8.69±1.70 on the total scale, 2.66±0.71 on the knowledge of osteoporosis factor, 2.23±1.12 on the knowledge of risk factors for osteoporosis factor, 2.03±0.99 on the knowledge of preventive factors related to osteoporosis such as physical activity and diet factor, and 0.10±0.30 on the feasibility of treatment factor. Conclusion: The majority of the study participants had a fair level of knowledge about osteoporosis disease, with a mean of 8.69±1.70, Nurses' knowledge regarding osteoporosis.
