Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to identify the psychosocial variables that influence coparenting competence among married individuals. The study sample comprised a total of 379 voluntary parents, of whom 304 were women and 75 were men. All participants were married individuals with children. Data were collected using the Coparenting Competence Scale (CCS), the Gender Perception Scale (GPS), the Marital Satisfaction Scale (MSS), the Five-Factor Personality Scale (FFPS), and a Demographic Information Form (DIF) developed by the researcher. To determine the psychosocial variables predicting coparenting competence among married individuals—namely, age, gender, educational level, place of residence, number of children, gender of children, average income, perceived socioeconomic status, gender perception, marital satisfaction, and personality traits—the CHAID (Chi-square Automatic Interaction Detection) analysis was employed. All data within the scope of the study were collected online. The results of the CHAID analysis indicated that marital satisfaction, educational level, number of children, responsibility, agreeableness, gender, gender perception, compatibility, age, and parental income level significantly predicted coparenting competence. Among these variables, marital satisfaction and parental educational level emerged as the most significant predictors, whereas parental age and income level were found to be the least significant predictors in terms of predictive importance.
