Abstract (EN)
This study aimed at developing a scale to measure marital satisfaction of marriagepeople. Content validity, construct and concurrent validity studies were done for developmentprocess of the scale. Internal consistency and test-retest reliability calculations were done totest the reliability of the scale. In this study for the first construct validity study, a sample of 360 married individualswere selected with snowball sampling. For the second construct validity study, the scale wasgiven to 146 married individuals. For the third construct validity study, 217 marriedindividuals filled the scale and for the fourth phase of the construct validity 301 marriedindividuals were reached for collecting data. For the convergent validity evaluation Marital Adjustment Scale (MAS) wasadministered to 111 married individuals. Discriminant validity study was done 47 marriedindividuals and for this study Beck Depression Scale was administered to the sample. Testretest reliability with 3 weeks interval using a 70 married couple sample was found to be .86with total score.Factor analysis results revealed a three factor scale having 13 items all together. Thescale factors were labeled as family (5), sexuality (5) and self (3) respectively. Convergentvalidity and total scale-subscale corelation values were found to be significantly high.Key Word: Marriage Satisfaction, Family, Sexuality, Self
