This thesis which is called ?Glass Education on Global Scale and Developments in This Area? has been prepared to explain glass art and glass art education with examples from both World and Turkey so as to analysis training period of Glass material. Glass is a material which has taken a place in life cycle in the form of craft and other common goods from its discovery to European Industrial Revolution and it became more accessible after labor displacement that came with Industrial Revolution. First steps taken in schooling were in Czechoslovakia with, Kamenicky Senov (1856), Novy Bor (1870) and Zelezny Brod (1920). In 20th century, with emergence of Studio Glass Movement, Glass took place among modern branches of art and stil remains. The first chapter of the thesis is composed of five chapters; contains general information about the defination and history of glass. First; given that the information of, effect of the chemical structure in the production process, then exploration of the glass, production of artificial glass and in time the process of the development of both technical and artistic glass is explained. In the second chapter which is examined development process of glass education in Turkey and in the World; referring pioneer countries in the field of education of glass and approaches to education in these countries. Pioneer countries in the field of education determined as; The Czech Republic, USA, Great Britain, Poland and Japan. And there is information about, development process of glass education in Turkey. The third chapter of the thesis; there are schools of glass and private institutions in the World and Turkey within limitations (twenty two schools in the World, six schools in Turkey ? eight private institutions in the World, a private institution in Turkey), and their short histories, curriculums and facilities they offer The last chapter of thesis has been reserved for personal exercises. In this chapter, education concept in general has been interpretted with reflections in different size and levels using glass material which has been worked as two or three dimensional way, with a judgmental perspective. The fifth and final part of the thesis is conclusion. In this chapter; the schools and the private institutions referred in the third chapter are examined and based on these datas; there are suggestions like, planning glass education, recommendations of structure of glass education.
