Özet (EN)

This study covers briquetting experiments and the Standard test results of the briquettes obtained from a fine sized coal sample. In the experiments, effects of binder content, heat treatment period, temperature and particle size on mechanical strength of the briquettes were investigated.Water resistance, impact resistance and shatter tests were conducted in order to find out information related to durability of the briquettes. Stove combustion tests were performed for the combustion characteristics of the samples. As a result of the experimental studies, optimum particle size and moisture content of the sample briquetted, were found as ? 3,15 mm and 7% respectively. The best mechanical strength was achieved when the briquetting pressure was 450 kN/ briquette surface. The optimum binder content was 10%, heat treatment period and temperature were 60 min and 200 0C respectively
