Abstract (EN)

Manufacturing companies are looking for solutions to their current and expected problems due to the latest developments in technology, changed expectations of consumers, decreased productivity in production, changed conditions and demanding to increase product quality. Delay, stock and wasted resource problems started to cause bigger problems day by day. Companies are aware that they do not have the capacity to solve the problems of their current technologies. For this reason, companies have turned to Industry 4.0, which covers all processes from the beginning to the final stage of a business. The Industry 4.0 strategy aims to reduce production time, cost, energy and raw material requirements while increasing productivity and quality. Companies face difficulties during the transition to Industry 4.0. With Industry 4.0, companies leave traditional production and go into production with digital technology. To pass Industry 4.0, companies need to create a successful plan, identify barriers to be faced, train their employees, hire talented people and improve their digital management. In this study, a survey consisting of 9 main criteria was conducted for experts working in the cotton manufacturing sector in Adana. After testing the reliability of the survey data, they were evaluated using the Intuitionistic Fuzzy TOPSIS method. As a result, the readiness of cotton manufacturing firms in Adana for the transition to Industry 4.0 model was examined, as well as the difficulties and deficiencies that firms will face during the transition to the model. This thesis study is intended to be a guide for companies that will switch to Industry 4.0 model.
