Fâdil Salih as-Samarrai's work titled Balaghatu'l-kalimah fi't-ta'bir al-Qur'ani

The Many studies have been conducted for the correct understanding of the Holy Qur'an. In this study, based on the work of contemporary linguist and tafsir scholar Fāḍil Salih al-Sāmerrāʾī, Belāgat al-kelima fī al-taʾbīr al-Qurʾānī, the differences in wording between certain words in the Qurʾān are analyzed. The study is limited to the words discussed under the titles of "dhikr, hazif and ibdāl" in al-Sāmarrāʾī's work. The main purpose of the study is to analyze al-Sāmarrāʾī's methods of analyzing these word differences and to reveal his contributions to Qurʾānic eloquence. In the research process, al-Sāmarrāʾī's evaluations are discussed within the framework of the theories of eloquence, and a comparative analysis is made by interpreting them from different perspectives. The study consists of two main parts: In the first part, Fāḍil Salih al-Sāmerrāʾī's life, scholarly personality and works are explained; in the second part, the author's approach is evaluated by analyzing the word groups in line with al-Sāmerrāʾī's methods. The results of the study reveal that al-Sāmerrāʾī approaches word choices in the Qurʾān not only at the level of dictionary meaning but also within the framework of contextual usage, sound structure and psychological effects. In particular, the contributions to the integrity of meaning through the methods of dhikr, hazif and ibdāl are identified. By revealing his contributions to the fields of language and tafsir, the study shows that his work Belāgat al-kelima is an important source of reference in understanding the eloquence and eloquence of the Qur'ānic words. Therefore, this study emphasizes the originality of al-Sāmarrāʾī's methods for explaining word differences in the Qurʾān and reveals that these analyses make important contributions to classical tafsīr and linguistic studies. In this context, the inclusion of al-Sāmarrāʾī's works in the academic literature of our country is of great importance for Arabic language and rhetoric studies.
