Özet (EN)

Culture is the whole of material and moral values that human beings have created in all areas of life from past to present and that vary from society to society. The general characteristics of societies are determined by their cultural values. These cultural values are transferred to future generations in written and oral environments. The science that examines and interprets the cultural values of the people and helps to know the people deeply is called folklore. Especially after the Republican period, artists turned to Anatolia and started a new trend under the name of village literature. Many of the artists who put forth their works within the framework of this movement were from the Village Institute, and they were people who came out of the people and directly reflected the people's life, traditions and customs, and the problems of the people in their works. Fakir Baykurt is one of the authors who include elements of the public in her works. Baykurt realistically reflected the conditions of her time, the society she lived in and the cultural characteristics of the society in her works. Her stories are remarkable in that they directly convey the village life of the period and the troubles of Turkish families who had to migrate to Germany due to financial difficulties. In this respect, it is possible to say that there are a lot of folklore elements in the stories of the author. In this study, we tried to evaluate the effects of written and oral cultural products on the stories of Fakir Baykurt, one of the writers of the Republican period, based on the stories. Thus, we tried to emphasize once again the importance of folk culture in the acquisition of national identity in the life of the nation.
