Abstract (EN)

In this study, the cultivation opportunities of anise (Pimpinella anisum L.) ecotypes which has a high economic value in terms of country's economy and has an impertant place both, in domestic consumption and exports were investigated in Diyarbakır conditions. The objective of the study was to search suitable sowing dates of various anise ecotypes through investigetion of plant height, number of umbrella per plant, number of barnch with fruit, seed yield and essential oil ratio, in 1998-1999 growing season, on Experimental Field of Field crop Deparment of Faculty of Agriculture at Dicle University in Diyarbakır. İn the present study, there anise ecotypes (Gölhisar, İzmir and Burdur) and four different sowing dates (October 20, November 20, December 20 and Januarry 20) were chosen and it was determined that as sowing date was delayed seed and essential oil yield were decreased and sowing at 20 October produced (53.39 kg/da seed yield) significantly different favorable resulte when compared to later sowing dates.
