Abstract (EN)
The research was conducted to determine the effects of different pepper rootstocks on yield and some quality characteristics of long and bell grafted pepper varieties. In this work Foundation F1, Tresor F1 and Güçlü F1 varieties were used as pepper rootstocks while Benino F1 bell pepper and Efes F1 long peppers were used as scions. Germination percentage (%), successful grafting rate (%), total plant loss (number), plant height (cm), leaf width (cm), distance between grafting point and first branching (cm), distance between root collar and first branching, fruit length (cm), fruit diameter (cm), fruit number (number/plant), average fruit weight (g/number), yield per plant (kg/plant), peduncle length (cm), fruit flesh thickness (mm), total brix (%), pH value in fruit juice, amount of chlorophyll and amount of plant nutrients in the soil were investigated in the study. According to the results of the research, in Benino F1 bell pepper the highest values of fruit diameter were found in the combination of BenXFoun and BenXTres, BenXTres and BenXGüç in peduncle length, while the highest fruit length was obtained from the non-grafted plants. The highest value of fruit flesh thickness were found in BenXTres, while the highest value of average fruit weight were found in BenXFoun and BenXGüç, while in terms of total yield no differences between treatments were observed. According to the results of the analysis from the soil samples which were taken from the parcells of Benino F1 after vegetation, highest P were found in control (Ben) and BenXTres combination, highest Ca in Ben control, highest Mg, Na and Zn micro elements were found BenXTres combination, while highest Fe content were in BenXTres and BenXGüç combinations. In colour values of Benino F1 fruits, the highest L value was measured in the BenXTres application while highest Ho value was calculated in BenXFoun. The pH value of pepper fruit juices were measured in BenXFoun, BenXTres and BenXGüç, while the highest Brix values were determined in Ben and BenXGüç combinations. The highest amount of chlorophyll measured in the bell pepper plants was determined in the BenXTres combination.According to results of research in Efes F1 grafted on different pepper rootstocks, the highest values of fruit peduncle length and fruit flesh thickness were found in iv EfesXFoun application while in terms of fruit length the highest value were found in EfesXTres and EfesXGüç combinations. On the color measurements which made on long pepper fruits, rootstocks did not show effects. The highest values in terms of number of fruits were found in Efes and EfesXGüç combination, also the highest value of total yield was determined in control (Efes). The highest N and K of the plant nutrients determined in the soil samples after vegetation were found in EfesXGüç, the highest P amount in Efes and EfesXGüç, the highest Ca amount in EfesXTres. In terms of micro elements, the highest value Mg were found in EfesXFoun and EfesXGüç, the highest Na and Mn in EfesXTres, the highest Fe and Cu in Efes, and the highest Zn was determined in EfesXGüç combination. In the measurements of the fruit juices obtained from long pepper showed that there was no effect of rootstock on the pH and total brix. The highest value of chlorophyll measured in long pepper plants were in the EfesXTres combination. As a result, although the effects of rootstocks were different according to varieties of both pepper types, EfesXTres was prominent among the used rootstocks.
