Investigation of pre-service teachers' attitudes and awareness towards environment in terms of different variables

In this study, to determine the prospective teachers‟ (studying at education faculties) awareness and attitude levels about environmental issues were aimed. For this purpose, awareness and attitude scale was carried out to 400 prospective teachers who continue their education. The subjects of the research are from 1st grade (N=210) and senior (N=190) students of Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University teaching departments (preschool, primary school, science, maths, social sciences) who studied in 2019-2020 fall semester. In the research, the forty five point forty four point awareness scale developed by Güven and Aydoğdu (2012) was used. The quantitative data obtained was analyzed by SPSS 18 statistical analysis program. In the analysis of quantitative data descriptive statistical techniques, independent samples t-test and ANOVA was used and significance level was taken as ,05. At the end of the research , it is the majority of the prospective teachers has positive attitude to environmental issues and by defining the branches and number of the prospective teachers who reach this level is stated that whether with grades departments of prospective teachers or not.
