Özet (EN)

Structural steel material is an alternative bulding material with its features such as high strength, ductility and lighter unit volume weight than concrete which is the most used bulding material in Turkey. For this reason, knowing the behaviour of bearing systems formed with structural steel material under horizontal and vertical loads will contribute to the use of structural steel more in Turkey. Different types of bearing systems are used against horizontal loads in steel buldings. Among these, moment resisting frames, central braced frames and eccentric braced frames are widely used. In this study, 10 story steel buldings, one of which has an 'L' shaped geometry in plan, and another steel bulding with vertical irregularity in additon to this irregularity were designed with moment resisting frames and then two steel structures were modeled with central steel braced frames by optimazing the sections. Within the scope of the study a total of 8 steel buldings were examined and the design and sizing calculations were made according to TBDY 2018 ve ÇYTHYE 2018. Sap2000v19 software was utilized for structural analysis. As result of the structural analyses, the steel buldings modeled with moment resisting frames and the steel buldings designed with cental braced systems were compared in terms of parameters such as load-bearing system weight, period and floor displacements.
