Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted in order to characterize local bean populations collected from different provinces in terms of some physiological, morphological, agronomical and technological characteristics. The experiments were carried out in the fields and laboratories of Faculty of Agriculture of Isparta University of Applied Sciences in 2019 and 2020, using 68 dry bean genotypes and 5 cultivars (Akın, Akman98, Göynük98, Önceler98 and Yunus90) according to the Augmented design. It was observed that there are significant variations dry bean cultivars and genotypes in terms of all the characteristics examined. According to the research results; days to emergence 10.75 – 32.75 days, emergence percentage 17.20 – 90.75%, days to flowering 31.80 – 84.60 days, days to pod setting 53.65 – 92.55 days, vegetation period 99.40 – 180.3 days, chlorophyll content 25.21 – 47.25, plant height 22.49 – 173.9 cm, first pod height 4.42 – 15.81 cm, pod length 5.85 – 14.35 cm, pod diameter 7.16 – 17.5 mm, pods per plant 9.90 – 89.40, seeds per pod 1.95 – 6.86, seeds per plant 20.23 – 277.1, grain yield per plant 11.79 – 68.34 g, grain yield 58.14 – 680.1 kg/da, harvest index 13.11 – 71.46%, hundred grain weight 18.99 – 135.5 g, water uptake capacity 0.137 – 1.483 g/seed, water uptake index 2.049 – 16.040%, thousand grain volume 118.0 – 1205.0 ml, swelling capacity 0.478 – 15.380 ml/seed, swelling index 1.633 – 3.865%, grain density value 0.942 – 1.999 g/ml, grain protein content 14.48 – 24.79%, ash content 3.028 – 5.573%and seed coat rate varied between 6.66 – 15.10%. It was determined that there were promising local genotypes superior to the cultivars in grain yield and yield characteristics.
