The investigation levels by glucose filtration test and push out test in teeth filled with various root canal filling materials using various root canal filling methods

Özet (EN)

The aim of our study is to examine the impermeability of the root canals by the glucose filtration method in the lower premolar teeth with their roots shaped by NiTi rotary instruments and filled by using various root canal filling materials and methods. In addition, it is aimed to examine the dentine adhesion by the push-out test. The coronal parts of 245 lower premolar teeth were cut at the enamel-cement junction, obtaining 13 mm roots. 11 groups were formed to perform the glucose filtration test. 10 teeth were used in each of the positive and negative control groups and 20 teeth were used in the test groups. All teeth in all groups were shaped by the same method and washed out by the same solutions. The teeth were filled by using the sealers and methods giving the name of the groups. Then all samples were placed in the incubator. All samples were examined on day 1 and in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th weeks. Then the samples were collected. The samples were evaluated by a spectrophotometer device. Then, the results were statistically analyzed. 9 groups were formed at the dentine adhesion step. 5 teeth were used in each of these groups. 25 samples were created by taking 5 sections from each tooth. The surfaces of the samples were measured first. Later, tests were performed using the instron device. Finally, the findings were submitted for statistical evaluation. When evaluating the findings obtained in this study, IBM SPSS Statistics 22 for statistical analysis (SPSS IBM, Turkey) program was used. When the study data was evaluated, the normal distribution of the parameters was evaluated by the Shapiro Wilks test. Two-way ANOVA was used in recurrent measurements to assess the time, root canal filling methods, and the common effect of canal on filtrating when study data were evaluated. The Oneway Anova test was used to compare the normal distribution of the parameters with the normal distribution. The Tukey HDS test was used when the variances of the groups were homogeneous and the Tamhane's T2 test was used if the groups were not homogeneous. Mann Whitney U test was used for the comparison between the two groups of parameters without normal distribution. Paired Sample's t test was used for intra-group comparison of quantitative data showing normal distribution. Two-way ANOVA was used to evaluate root canal filling methods and sealers on push out. The Oneway Anova test was used to compare the normal distribution of the parameters with the normal distribution and the Tukey HDS test and the Tamhane's T2 test were used to determine the group causing the difference. Significance was assessed at p <0.05. In terms of impermeability, our study determined the most effective results in the group which AH Plus sealer was used with the lateral condensation method. The lateral condensation method was found to be the most effective method compared to the other root filling methods. In the second phase of our study, warm gutta-percha filling method was determined to provide the best dentine adhesion when the root canal was filled with AH Plus sealer. Secondly, the group, in which condensation was applied with AH Plus, provided effective resistances, too. In general, the evaluation of the results of our study leads to the conclusion that the root canal treatments performed by lateral condensation method and with AH Plus sealer were successful as reported by the previous studies.
