Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACTIn this study, L shaped concrete plates which have different boundary conditions wereanalysed by using two different methods and comparison of the solutions weregiven.These methods are finite differences and finite element methods. Application offinite element method was made by using the computer program called SAP2000.In chapter 1, general plate theory was explained shortly and equations of elasticity forthin plates were given. Using these equations stress/strain and strain/displacementrelationships were written.In chapter 2, the finite element one of the approximate method was explained. Applyingthis method on plates and equilibrium of stresses acting on a body was given.In chapter 3, the finite differences one of the approximate method method was explained.Applying this method on plates and equilibrium of stresses acting on a body was given.In chapter 4, the analyse results, tables and diagrams are shown for plates which havethree different boundary conditions.In chapter 5, application steps were given for the finite finite differences method. Thematrix of coefficients which is used while solving the problem was shown in this chapter.Keywords : L shaped plates, finite differences, finite elements.
