Abstract (EN)
This Study was carried out to determine most suitable irrigation time for the Aegean Region's standart cotton cultivars, Nazilli 84 and Nazilli M-503 under the Büyük Menderes Plain conditions. Field trials was conducted in 1999 at the Cotton Research Institude fields in Nazilli. Experiment was arranged in split-plot design with 3 replications. The aim of this study to investigate the effect of first irrigation time on some agronomic traits and yielding ability of two local commercial cultivars. Four different irrigation times were taken as fallows; 1-Firts irrigation was made before flowering 2- " " " " after 25 % flowering. 3- " " " " after 50% 4- " " " " at full blooming. One year results showed that first irrigation time had no effect on nod number, vegetative branch, frutting branch, number of boll per plant, first picking percantage, ginning outturn, seed index and fiber strength on cotton. On the other hand, seed cotton yield, plant height, internode, fiber fineness and fiber lenght had affected statisically from first irrigation time.
