Abstract (EN)

In this study, mathematics teachers' views in different countries about mathematical modeling and modeling mathematics were examined. 58 teachers working in Turkey, Germany, Romania, Ukraine, Denmark, Poland, Sweden, Jordan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Netherlands, and Finland in 2022, participated in the research. The research is a case study designed with the qualitative approach. The data of the study was obtained through the "Mathematical Modeling Evaluation Questionnaire (MMDA)", "Document analysis" and "Interview form". With the document review, the mathematical modeling examples they use in their lessons and the mathematical modeling examples found in the textbooks were requested from the teachers. As a result of the research, it was seen that according to the definitions they made or the mathematical modeling examples in their classes, the majority of the teachers, mostly from Turkey, use mathematical modeling instead of mathematical modeling. Based on the definitions they made, the examples they used in their lessons, and the examples they loaded from their textbooks, it was concluded that the teachers' views on mathematical modeling from Germany differed from the teachers' views in other countries.
